Commissioner to give ILPC Annual Lecture 2025

The Scottish Biometrics Commissioner Dr Brian Plastow has accepted an invitation to deliver the annual ILPC lecture at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies in London on 20 November 2025.

The Information Law and Policy Centre (ILPC) are based at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (IALS), 17 Russell Square London. The theme for the 2025 conference is ‘Regulating AI in a changing world: Oversight and Enforcement’. The centre was launched in 2015. Its mission is to undertake, promote, and facilitate, cross-disciplinary scholarship and research in the areas of information law and policy, domestically and internationally.

The Commissioner’s lecture will be on the theme of ‘Biometrics and policing: The benefits and risks of AI for law enforcement and criminal justice’.
